About Baby Bookworms

Baby Bookworms is a theme-based family childcare where each month there is a new learning experience. An area of the outdoor shed is used to house the twelve bins labeled by each month. It is our normal routine that the fourth week of the month be spent returning current themed items to the shed and replacing it w/ the themed items for the next month. An example of things changed include (but not limited to) books, centers, sensory bins, charts, fingerplays, etc. The children are never bored and are constantly being challenged to learn about new things. My personal values and beliefs around teaching and learning are adopted from the theorist, Jean Piaget, who I learned about in my early years of study. Like him, I believe that children learn from their environment, and the set up of the classroom is most important.
