Castro is a center-based child care and early education facility serving the students and families of Denver! As a center, Castro provides a school-like learning and enrichment environment that gives students a taste of what they’ll experience at more formal school in the years to come. Students at Castro are provided the socialization opportunities that come with peers of similar ages, the enrichment opportunities that come with a center’s resources and structure, and the community that comes with experienced staff. In addition, a full-time early education and care schedule for children supports structured learning, cognitive development and social skills - and that’s what Denver parents can get at Castro! Castro provides a full-time program, which allows parents the time they need away to work and affords children the opportunities to learn, laugh, explore, play and get used to longer days. Children will enjoy a community with others their own ages and develop behavioral and social skills in Castro’s learning environment. Students at Castro will also experience a nature-focused, outdoors-oriented learning approach that emphasizes an early and often connection to the environment and natural world. Learning approaches like this embrace the role that active, outside play can take in shaping independence, appropriate risk-taking, and creative self-expression for children. The outdoors can be a place of joy and wonder in childhood, and stimulating that wonder in children can have positive lifelong benefits and be a boon for physical and emotional health.
