Jewish Community Center is a center-based early care and education program for the students and families of Denver. Attending centers like Jewish Community Center can benefit students who’re ready for a school-like environment, rich in activities, resources and opportunities to learn and grow, but don’t want to sacrifice on the close relationships with peers and staff that you’d expect from any child care provider. Students at Jewish Community Center join a community of learners that will explore, play and grow together. The benefit of a full-time schedule for children, too, can be dramatic! In a structured, repeated learning environment, students will play with the same peers, get familiar with the same staff and experience something new every day. The full-time schedule at Jewish Community Center offers families these things for their children in an environment that’ll soon become a real community. Parents get the advantages of long blocks of time to work while students will grow their social, behavioral and cognitive skills. Jewish Community Center teaches a play-based curriculum that values self-directed, interactive, intuitive learning by and for children. Students at play-based schools get the opportunity to participate in theme-based, hands-on activities with staff that facilitate and direct the discovery process. Through these hands-on activities, students develop social, cognitive and emotional skills built through the cooperation process with their peers. A play-based approach also can spark a love of learning that will be foundational for students throughout their early years of formal school.
