Apogee STEM Discovery Learning Academy is a family owned and operated child-care facility. Our spiraling STEM curriculum is uniquely created to cater to the academic needs of each individual child in order to reach his or her full potential. We believe that it isn’t enough to simply teach, but we must also take care of each child throughout the day. Our entire age appropriate STEM curriculum is based on a Project-Based Learning (PBL) model. The curriculum emphasizes learning activities that are multidisciplinary, student-centered, and integrated with real world applications. Teaching is done through projects, not teaching and then doing projects. The projects are the learning, not the “dessert” at the end. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) place the learners at the center of the learning experiences. Focusing on STEM provides the foundation to develop children’s communication, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills, which will ensure that they will develop socially, emotionally, cognitively (including language) and physically.
