Berry Elem Pre-K is a public pre-kindergarten program serving the parents and families of Houston. As a pre-k, Berry Elem Pre-K provides a structured, stable learning environment that replicates the best of the formal school years ahead and is hosted on the same campus where they may even be able to attend kindergarten once they graduate pre-k. Pre-k provides more resources and opportunities for students to explore the world around them, as well as a bevy of peers and socialization opportunities. In addition, a full-time early education and care schedule for children supports structured learning, cognitive development and social skills - and that’s what Houston parents can get at Berry Elem Pre-K! Berry Elem Pre-K provides a full-time program, which allows parents the time they need away to work and affords children the opportunities to learn, laugh, explore, play and get used to longer days. Children will enjoy a community with others their own ages and develop behavioral and social skills in Berry Elem Pre-K’s learning environment. In addition, Berry Elem Pre-K takes a play-based approach to child development and education. Play-based curriculums emphasize students having the independence to explore their own interests at the time, be they creative, constructional, observational or artistic, and emphasize students being hands-on and natural with their activities. Staff at play-based curriculums take an active role in the discovery and learning process, encouraging students to dig in, explore, and cooperate with their peers to create the world around them.
