Candyland Vtm is a center-based early care and education program for the students and families of Houston. Students at Candyland Vtm join a community of learners that will explore, play and grow together. Candyland Vtm additionally provides a full-time schedule that allows parents and students to get the best out of early care and education. Full-time education offers that structured learning environment for skills to grow, growth to happen and play to abound! Students get the opportunity to form lasting bonds with children their own age and a true community with staff, all the while parents have those long blocks of time to provide for their little ones. In addition, Candyland Vtm teaches a mixed-age curriculum that facilities peer learning and communal growth. In a mixed-age classroom like at Candyland Vtm, students receive open-ended, stimulating activities and are encouraged to move at their own pace. Younger students receive help and encouragement from older students, boosting their confidence and self-esteem, and older students get to lend a helping hand, teaching empathy and the joy of giving. Mixed-age learning replicates the best of a family or neighborhood group structure as children socialize with peers a little ahead or a little behind their own development path.
