Happy Times Academy is a center-based child care and early education facility serving the students and families of Houston! As a center, Happy Times Academy provides a school-like learning and enrichment environment that gives students a taste of what they’ll experience at more formal school in the years to come. Students at Happy Times Academy are provided the socialization opportunities that come with peers of similar ages, the enrichment opportunities that come with a center’s resources and structure, and the community that comes with experienced staff. Happy Times Academy has a part-time schedule, as well, perfect for parents that want the flexibility to be away from their little ones for awhile but don’t need a full-time day just yet. Students will get used to the structured learning environment, with all the peer play & social exploration that comes with that, but don’t yet need to adjust to long days away from parents. The part-time program at Happy Times Academy sets students up for success in the years ahead. Happy Times Academy also takes a play-based approach to facilitating the learning and development of students. A play-based educational approach emphasizes theme-based, hands-on activities that get students involved, often in the areas of learning that they’re particularly interested in at the time. Play-based schools like Happy Times Academy focus on the process of learning and the social, emotional skills built along the way and often break their physical settings up to encourage and facilitate different play in different areas.
