Northline Elem Pre-K is a public pre-kindergarten program serving the parents and families of Houston. As a pre-k, Northline Elem Pre-K provides a structured, stable learning environment that replicates the best of the formal school years ahead and is hosted on the same campus where they may even be able to attend kindergarten once they graduate pre-k. Pre-k provides more resources and opportunities for students to explore the world around them, as well as a bevy of peers and socialization opportunities. Northline Elem Pre-K additionally provides a full-time schedule that allows parents and students to get the best out of early care and education. Full-time education offers that structured learning environment for skills to grow, growth to happen and play to abound! Students get the opportunity to form lasting bonds with children their own age and a true community with staff, all the while parents have those long blocks of time to provide for their little ones. Northline Elem Pre-K teaches a play-based curriculum that values self-directed, interactive, intuitive learning by and for children. Students at play-based schools get the opportunity to participate in theme-based, hands-on activities with staff that facilitate and direct the discovery process. Through these hands-on activities, students develop social, cognitive and emotional skills built through the cooperation process with their peers. A play-based approach also can spark a love of learning that will be foundational for students throughout their early years of formal school.
