As a center, Ccrc Head Start- Melvin provides an environment that’s geared towards stability, structure and providing learning resources and opportunities for children to explore the sights and sounds of the world around them. Children will meet and form bonds with peers of like ages and benefit from quality instructions from experienced adults. The full-time schedule also provides a real community for families, as children get to know each other well! Ccrc Head Start- Melvin also teaches a language immersion curriculum, fully immersing students in the learning of a foreign language in a natural way! Students at Ccrc Head Start- Melvin will experience subjects, activities, exercises and play all in a foreign language, rather than a language being taught as a separate subject. Language immersion has been shown to be a fantastic method to help expand students’ horizons and inculcate language abilities at a time where students’ cognitive abilities are taking off.
