S.E.E.D.S. is a center-based early care and education program for the students and families of Los Angeles. Attending centers like S.E.E.D.S. can benefit students who’re ready for a school-like environment, rich in activities, resources and opportunities to learn and grow, but don’t want to sacrifice on the close relationships with peers and staff that you’d expect from any child care provider. Students at S.E.E.D.S. join a community of learners that will explore, play and grow together. With a full-time schedule, as well, S.E.E.D.S. allows parents to work and assume other responsibilities while their children are playing and learning amongst their peers. Children have the opportunity to get used to the natural rhythms of a daily structured learning environment with a full-time schedule, which can help smooth the transition into kindergarten and future education. The full-time schedule allows plenty of opportunities for creativity and fun, too, as the day always feels too short when you’re having fun! S.E.E.D.S. additionally takes a play-based approach to children's development and learning, facilitating education through interactive, hands-on activities that get children moving. Play-based environments structure their spaces to encourage students to move with independence, passion and explore at their own direction. Staff in these environments encourage and galvanize students to lean into their interests and build their own worlds in cooperation with their peers, and students gain cooperative, social and emotional skills as a result of these communal activities.
