About Young Learners Pre-K

Young Learners Pre-K is a public pre-kindergarten program serving the parents and families of Houston. As a pre-k, Young Learners Pre-K provides a structured, stable learning environment that replicates the best of the formal school years ahead and is hosted on the same campus where they may even be able to attend kindergarten once they graduate pre-k. Pre-k provides more resources and opportunities for students to explore the world around them, as well as a bevy of peers and socialization opportunities. Young Learners Pre-K also takes a play-based approach to facilitating the learning and development of students. A play-based educational approach emphasizes theme-based, hands-on activities that get students involved, often in the areas of learning that they’re particularly interested in at the time. Play-based schools like Young Learners Pre-K focus on the process of learning and the social, emotional skills built along the way and often break their physical settings up to encourage and facilitate different play in different areas.
