A Place To Grow is a center-based child care and early education facility serving the students and families of Philadelphia! As a center, A Place To Grow provides a school-like learning and enrichment environment that gives students a taste of what they’ll experience at more formal school in the years to come. Students at A Place To Grow are provided the socialization opportunities that come with peers of similar ages, the enrichment opportunities that come with a center’s resources and structure, and the community that comes with experienced staff. With the after-school program at A Place To Grow, Philadelphia parents can furthermore get the benefits of continue supervised programming for their children beyond traditional care hours. The after-school program at A Place To Grow gives students extra time to socialize, cooperate and learn with peers, more structured learning time and another community for students to benefits from, all the while giving parents the extra time they need to wrap up with work or take care of other responsibilities. A Place To Grow also offers a technology curriculum that helps prepare students early for the twenty-first century. Students will experience hands-on technology activities that develop their creativity, initiative and natural curiosity, all through a lens of the tools and media that will only grow in importance in their lives in the years to come. Interacting with technology in a structured curriculum will also help students view technology as a medium through which to explore and discover rather than just a means to passively consume entertainment.
