About The Caring Center

The Caring Center is a center-based early care and education program for the students and families of Philadelphia. Attending centers like The Caring Center can benefit students who’re ready for a school-like environment, rich in activities, resources and opportunities to learn and grow, but don’t want to sacrifice on the close relationships with peers and staff that you’d expect from any child care provider. Students at The Caring Center join a community of learners that will explore, play and grow together. The Caring Center has a full-time schedule that promotes community for the students and families that attend. Students will have the opportunity to get to know the same peers and adults, every day, and learn together in a structured environment. With plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and try new activities, students will grow their cognitive and language skills as well as their sense of wonder at the world around them. Parents will see their children’s social and behavioral development grow in leaps and bounds! The Caring Center also offers a mixed-age classroom and curriculum which emphasizes open-ended, tactile activities that allow children to explore however that learning activity makes the most sense to them. Mixed-age classrooms like at The Caring Center encourage peer learning, asking help from each other and reinforce a sense of empathy for one’s peers. Older students will learn leadership skills and younger students have the advantage of joining a classroom that already has the building blocks of community.
