When Cally and the MBCC Journey team switched to brightwheel, they were hoping to solve the problem of juggling too many software systems. They were using one program for check-in, another for billing, and email for parent communication. Streamlining everything into one cohesive system was a big relief to Cally.

MBCC Journey’s Director, Laura, no longer needs to spend days holed up in her office to take care of billing every month. Parents can now update their information right in their account, which was formerly a multi-step process with their previous billing solution. They also had to wait on hold for hours with the old company, whereas now they can simply use Live Chat with brightwheel’s Support team to receive instant answers. 

Teachers have noticed that Cally and Laura are now both more present in the building, and it lifts up everyone’s spirits at the program.

3. In-app messaging makes it easy for families to be proactive and stay engaged.

When MBCC Journey only used email for parent communication, teachers would need to take the extra step of reaching out to families if a child was absent or they’d find out last-minute about a change in pick-up. 

Now, because the app is so engaging, parents are very quick to respond when they reach out. Families also send more messages ahead of time to keep staff informed about situations like a child not feeling well and thus not being able to come to school the next day.
